1971-1972 Secondary Technical School of Glass Design (SOŠUP) in Světlá nad Sázavou; 1972-1976 Secondary Technical School of Glass Arts and Crafts in Železný Brod (SUŠS); 1976-1978 worked in the glass centre of the Železný Brod glassworks; 1978-1984 studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM) under Prof. Stanislav Libenský; 1987 founding member of the artist group Tvrdohlaví [The Stubborn Ones]. Since 1994 own studio for fused glass sculpture in Pelechov near Železný Brod, with twelve employees; founded the Jaroslava Brychtová School for Fused Glass in Železný Brod. Since 1985 international awards and scholarships, including from UAM California, New York, Erfurt, Prague etc. Numerous exhibitions since 1993, for example in Berlin, Brighton, Liberec, Karlsruhe, New York, and Prague; works held in numerous Czech and international collections. One of the leading glass artists in the Czech Republic with an extremely innovative and diverse artistic and technical repertoire. One of his most important works was the production of the glass sarcophagus for Queen Margarethe II of Denmark, which took several years and was designed by Bjørn Nørgaard; completed in 2018, it is now in Roskilde Cathedral.
