Martin Janecký (b. Liberec, 1980)

After basic training in his father's glass factory, studied at the Secondary School of Glass Arts and Crafts in Novy Bór; after 1998 worked with glass artists in South Africa, Sweden, and the Netherlands; 2003 studied at the renowned Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood (Washington); since then teacher in various glass studios at museums and universities in the USA, the Czech Republic, Australia, Japan, and elsewhere; numerous prizes and solo exhibitions around the world, for example in New York, Chicago, Prague, London, Frankfurt am Main, Detroit, Santa Fe, Maastricht; 2019 established his own glass studio in Prague. One of the most important glass artists in the Czech Republic with a special technique (‘inside bubble sculpting’) for making glass sculptures; famous for life-size, detailed heads and skulls; works held in all leading glass collections around the world.
