This model was made in 1964/65 and was exhibited at the Leipzig trade fair in 1965.
These objects were purchased as exhibits from various exhibition stands by HO Centrum Warenhaus Leipzig. According to in-house lore, the Leipzig museum secured an informal right of pre-emption for decorative art objects that were not returned to their countries of origin by the exhibitors. The department store then sold the remaining pieces to the citizens of Leipzig.
