From the 1950s to the 1970s, Erich Wustmann (ethnologist, author) undertook numerous expeditions and journeys to collect items for museums. He sold the acquired objects to the museums in Leipzig and Dresden.

This club was carved from light wood. Its cross section is almost circular, and narrowing toward the handle’s end. The handle is wrapped in braided bark fiber in white and dark brown stairway patterns. A ring of bright red feathers marks the upper end of the handle.

Ethnologist and author Erich Wustmann (1907–1994) acquired this piece during an expedition in 1956.
