This is an arrow used for games and bird hunting by the Kamayurá community of the Upper Xingu region. Its shaft is equipped with two tangentially placed feathers. A hollow tucum nut is plugged onto the tip. Blunt arrowheads are often used for bird hunting, seeking to hit the animal in flight without damaging its valuable plumage.

Ethnologist and author Erich Wustmann (1907–1994) acquired this piece during an expedition for the Leipzig museum in 1958.
