Women of the Feija community created this wedding blanket around 1921 in Erkoune, in the central Anti-Atlas. The heavy Tahdicht is painted on both sides, as wedding blankets are decorated front and back to ensure their protective colors are effective on both sides.
The path leading through the fields from village to village is depicted on the front. The central motif shows the moon through its four phases – a symbol of endurance and cyclical renewal. The back is much simpler, featuring house motifs in the corners and roof motifs at the ends and sides.
