You can see further exemplary objects of how the formal language of neo-classicism was reflected in arts and crafts and in the design of objects around 1800 in the showcases. The pewter end of the serving utensil - a prestigious piece of tableware - shows beautiful playful ornamentation. The Neo-classicist repertoire of forms is very vividly displayed here: You can see a palmette; a rolled acanthus leaf with an inscribed blossom, as well as other exotic fruits. The small salt bowl, which you can also see displayed here in the showcase, is a direct adoption of an antique tripod. Originally, these were mainly used as side furniture and as a base for cauldrons and fire bowls. In many cases, conventional forms were also adorned with neo-classicist decoration, such as the porcelain cup with arabesque motifs. New decorative forms were thus not only adopted in interior design, but also in the applied arts.
