When making the museum and designing the boxes, I was faced with this fundamental question: in displaying the objects that reminded Kemal of Fusun, should I adopt the soulless tradition of state sponsored museums and display them in sequence, or should I arrange them into compositions and make them into art? The aura of surrealism which permeates the museum of innocence is particularly prominent in this display.

From the heap of discarded papers and rubbish in the corner, I extracted the arm of a baby doll that had once been Füsun’s.
