In the second part of this exhibition, you can see the cabinets that are shown to the public for the first time. For this commission, Orhan Pamuk visited Dresden in January 2023 and researched its museums. The result is an entirely new artistic project in which the objects tell stories inspired by the exhibits in the Dresden State Art Collections. In his youth, Pamuk studied architecture and dreamed of becoming an artist. You can feel it in his books, where the bright visual image suddenly shines through his words. In its turn, his literature is visibly or invisibly present in his works of art:
“… the ‘hidden’ text behind them is probably made up of all my works and all my books. And, in fact, I don’t want to hide these texts at all,” says Pamuk.
