While the details of this commode’s construction are typical for a Louis XV-style commode from Paris during this time, the serrated sidewalls on the narrow sides that reach down very low are unusual. The apron (tablier) in the front, which emphasizes the vertical axis, is also very pronounced. The commode is another example of how the court in Saxony had a very unique taste that did not always strictly follow the French model.
