The girl, dressed in a light robe, wears a carefully arranged hairstyle consisting of various plaits and braids, which compares well with hairstyles we encounter in portraits of Lucilla ( d. 182 AD ), the wife of the emperor Lucius Verus.
The reason for the costly production of the statue will have been the early death of the girl, who certainly belonged to a wealthy family.
