Caspar David Friedrich. Where it all started

Caspar David Friedrich lived in Dresden for over 40 years, where he created his most important works and was intensively involved with contemporary art. Friedrich found his inspiration in nature, especially on hikes in the Dresden area. To mark his 250th birthday, the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden are dedicating a comprehensive exhibition to him in the Albertinum and the Kupferstich-Kabinett with numerous loaned works from German and European museums.
